Let's, for a moment, apply this adage to the four policemen on trial in the death of Amadou Diallo. Every death results in the loss of someone's child -- no matter the age, no matter the circumstance. Death has many faces: natural causes, illness, acts of violence and accidents. Yet every death affects more than the deceased. In the case of Diallo's tragic death, we understand the pain and the loss his parents, family and friends are experiencing, and our sympathy …
