NSW: Big crowds drawn to Easter Show
Sunshine and warm weather has attracted big crowds to the Sydney Royal Easter Show at Homebush.
An event spokesman says more than 92,000 people have passed through the gates since
the event opened yesterday morning.
Organisers are confident one million people will visit the show despite two other major
attractions vying for public attention.
Now in its 181st year, the show is competing with the long-awaited reopening of Luna
Park and western Sydney's soon-to-close Wonderland.
The Easter Sunday National Rugby League double-header at the nearby Telstra Stadium
is expected to give the show an additional crowd boost.
The show welcomed more than 900,000 people last year.
This year's show runs until April 15 and includes 16,000 animals, 15,000 competitors
and 1,000 commercial exhibitors.
